Jr. Well Abandonment Engineer
Terminis is seeking a highly motivated new or recent Engineering graduate to join our Well Abandonment team. As a Well Abandonment Engineer, you will provide support within the abandonment engineering and operational team to prepare and execute abandonment operations within regulatory requirements and within the clients' budgets.
Key Accountabilities:
Support the development and design of well abandonment programs through review of well histories (well files) and past operations.
Prepare AFE cost estimates for clients.
Review well abandonment costs and generate end of project summaries.
Conduct analysis on executed projects and evaluate opportunities for improvement on both a technical and operational level.
Develop an understanding of the well abandonment regulations for the various jurisdictions (Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan) to support variances to requirements (non-routine applications) when needed due to well operational issues or opportunities for improved methods/techniques.
Evaluate surface casing vent flow methods and success rates. Analyze results and prepare summary of findings.
Review environmental impacts and prepare reports.
Perform field rotation to work on Coiled Tubing units and Hot Oiler trucks performing abandonment operations. Rotation TBD based on successful candidate's circumstances.
Previous energy industry experience is preferred but not required
First Aid, H2S, CSO and WHMIS
Class 3 license or willingness to obtain a Class 3 is desirable.
Location:
Our head office is located in Downtown Calgary. Field operations are based in Camrose and encompass all basins in Western Canada. Employees will have some flexibility to work from home occasionally. Only accepting applications from those who are legally entitled to work in Canada.
Compensation is dependant on the skills, experience, and capabilities of the successful candidate.
