Continuing our growth trajectory from startup days, EarthLabs is excited to expand its team and is currently seeking a creative and motivated Jr. Video Editor to join us and support the production of engaging video content.

ABOUT THE ROLE



The

Jr. Video Editor

will assist in editing short-form social media content, business interviews, and other video projects. While primarily supporting the Video Editor, this role provides an opportunity to develop editing skills and eventually cut full videos independently. You will report to the Head of Production while taking guidance from the Video Editor.

This is a permanent, on-site position based in Toronto, Ontario.

WE WILL TRUST YOU TO... (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)



Support Video Editing:

Assist the Video Editor with organizing preparing, and managing footage, project files, and timelines to keep the workflow efficient.

Assist with Light Editing:

Perform basic edits on short-form content, including trimming clips, assembling sequences, and applying simple effects under the guidance of the Video Editor.

Collaborate with Team:

Work closely with the Video Editor, production team, and Head of Production to ensure projects meet creative direction and brand standards.

Assist in Final Touches:

Support basic colour correction, sound balancing, and motion graphics as needed.

Maintain Brand Guidelines:

Ensure all edits and content adhere to established visual and editorial standards.

Stay Updated:

Stay current with video editing tools, techniques, and trends to support the team and continue developing skills.

Ad Hoc Tasks:

Undertake additional ad hoc assignments and duties as assigned.

YOU WILL NEED TO BE/BRING... (QUALIFICATIONS)



Experience:

2+ years of professional video editing experience with a portfolio demonstrating capability in short-form content.

Education:

Post-secondary in media production, communications or a related field is an asset.

Software Proficiency:

Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Media Encoder; experience with After Effects and other motion graphics tools is a plus.

Attention to Detail:

Strong focus on technical accuracy and visual consistency.

Soft Skills:

Excellent time management, organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Creativity & Technical Skills:

Creative approach to video editing with a strong technical understanding of video production.

Growth Mindset:

Motivated to expand technical and creative editing skills and take on increasing responsibilities within the production team.

Pay: $55,000.00-$62,500.00 per year
