Our fantastic new client is looking to bring on a Jr. Project Manager to join their fun and energetic SE Calgary team. The prime candidate will share the same commitment to safety and elate in working for a company which prides itself on sustainable commercial construction practices. The perfect addition will be keen to join in on office pranks, dance parties, and Friday afternoon cocktail hour.

The ideal hire will have strong communication skills to interconnect with a variety of stakeholders and manage the portfolios of several clients. Being organized, self-motivated, and having excellent conflict resolution skills will ensure the candidate is successful in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing, and controlling project activity for client portfolios
  • Enforcing the company safety program in accordance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s best practice policies, OH&S, and local laws
  • Managing the preconstruction and bidding process, providing constructability, scheduling, and processing input
  • Communicating with the Architect, Owner and/or Construction Manager on all project disputes, progress, budgets, or modifications
  • Tracking all potential change orders
  • Managing cost control system to ensure budget compliance
  • Tracking and submitting inspections, obtaining permits, and managing building occupancy as required for a project
  • Providing monthly performance statuses, including cost forecasts, schedule updates, and cash flow/profitability reports
  • Developing new and maintaining existing business relationships with Owners, Architects/Engineers, Construction Managers, and Subcontractors as necessary to ensure future business opportunities
Education:
  • Relevant post secondary education
  • PMP designation (an asset)
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project) and Sage 100 Contractor
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, schedules, and costing reports
  • Strong understanding of construction procedures, including safety practices
Experience:
  • 2-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 commercial construction experience
Skills:
  • Impeccable organization to manage many moving parts
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Ability to assess and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Trustworthy, self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated to high quality work
Base Salary: $65,000 \xe2\x80\x93 $80,000 per year

Work Hours:
  • 40 hours per work
Remote Work:
  • This is not a remote position, this hire is required to be in office.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
