Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.The RoleAs a member of McArthur River\'s maintenance engineering department, you will report to the chief maintenance engineer. Your knowledge of mechanical equipment and design will be relied upon to support surface and underground operations. You are responsible for applying corporate policies, procedures, technical and safety standards, and regulations (Federal, Provincial, corporate and SHEQ) in your day-to-day work.In this role, you will:

  • Perform various engineering tasks and assignments, including equipment failure investigations, equipment inspections, developing repair plans, mining/process equipment design, drafting, equipment selection, vendor support, 3rd party design review, scope of work development
  • Provide technical support to maintenance, process, & mining department as required on a continuous basis to support Cameco\'s safety, environment, & production goals
  • Manage small capital or maintenance projects as required
  • Perform design & drafting to improve the equipment life
  • Support the site equipment refurbishment program
  • Support site operational reliability program to achieve the goal of operational excellence
  • Support construction & commissioning team as required
  • Receive on the job training through regular design and engineering tasks and assist our senior engineers in carrying out technical tasks using prescribed analysis, design, or computational methods
  • Maximize equipment availability, reliability and performance through effective problem solving, root cause failure analysis and proactive maintenance practices
Required:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Up to four years of experience in engineering, fabrication or construction would be an asset
  • Solid experience with mechanical software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, and other mechanical analysis software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
  • Previous experience in an underground mining environment
  • Interest and or experience in data driven smart 3D modelling, industrial automation, lean principles, and value engineering
