Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or AP experience preferred Experience in a law firm is an asset Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Familiarity with accounting and billing software (training provided) Strong organizational and time management skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong command of English

Responsibilities



Monitor daily payments, post deposits/withdrawals, reconcile General (CAD/USD) accounts, and process General-to-Trust transfers. Review and post invoices, manage bi-weekly payment runs (EFT, credit card, cheque), and maintain accurate AP records. Post soft and hard cost disbursements, prepare related journal entries, and ensure proper system access and documentation. Review, reconcile, and post monthly credit card transactions; ensure receipts and backups are properly saved. Deposit cheques, allocate payments in billing system, and assist with vendor, disbursement, and petty cash cheque processing. Record petty cash activity, prepare monthly reconciliations, and coordinate replenishments.
