As a Journeyperson Millwright, you will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, rigging, installation and alignment on a wide variety of City of Calgary water treatment plants and water transmission equipment. Primary duties include:
Repair and maintain industrial plant equipment, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and heat exchangers.
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls on mechanical systems and rotating equipment.
Install, align, and commission new mechanical equipment systems.
Use basic machining tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses, to fabricate or modify parts as required.
Write reports including work orders, progress reports, and equipment recommendations.
Read blueprints and interpret manufacturer's drawings, schematics, and overhaul instructions.
Lead and direct staff as necessary and assist in training apprentices and/or trainees.
