JOURNEYPERSON - WELDER
SHIFT : day Shift ONLY
10 hours per day
ROTATION: 2 weeks in/1 week out

SUMMARY
Journeyperson Welder - required to assist with layout, assembly, installation and maintenance piping systems, pipe supports and related industrial production and processing systems.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Execute installation welding for structural components and piping systems according to blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications
Interpret blueprints, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and work orders to ensure project requirements are met
Perform cutting (oxy-acetylene, plasma arc), air arc gouging, and grinding operations as required for weld preparation and finishing
Conduct pre-weld inspections of materials and joint preparations; performing post-weld inspections for quality and adherence to standards
Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
Strictly adhere to all company and project site safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Communicate effectively with supervisors, planners, and other tradespersons regarding job progress, material needs, and any encountered issues
Assist with rigging and fitting tasks as required
Display excellent teamwork abilities
Conduct essential maintenance welding repairs
Demonstrate commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safe work practices
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Must hold a Journeyperson Welder Certification (Red Seal) by the appropriate provincial or federal authority
Valid CWB Certification for SMAW process in all positions
TSASK, ASME, CWB
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Must have Working at Heights and Confined Space current Certifications; preferred Rigging and Hoisting, MEWP or Telehandler Certifications
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
Must be willing to travel to client's site (CAMP job)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stand for long periods of time
Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skill
Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints
