As a Journeyperson 1 Welder, you will be responsible for performing welding repairs and fabricating new parts using various metals such as aluminum and stainless steel. Primary duties include:Meet with customers to identify their needs including deadlines, review and discuss drawings and blueprints and provide estimates on required time and materials.
Perform welding including disassembling parts, inspecting damage, determining the cut list, preparing surfaces to be welded (for example: grinding, using wire brush and cleaning surfaces).
Use cutting, heating and welding equipment and applying various welding processes.
Review and interpret engineered drawings to design prototypes and fabricate new parts for various work orders including handrails, truck bodies, sanders, hot boxes and frost hogs.
