The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) is seeking to fill one (1) full-time permanent position of Journeyman Plumber. This position consists of "14 days on/7 days off" shift cycle; each shift will comprise of

80 hours

at regular pay with an option to accumulate 32 hours of overtime pay out at 1.5 your hourly rate for a total of 112 hours per shift cycle and any additional hours worked will be at the overtime rate. and shared accommodations and transportation are provided. Reporting to the Housing Director or designate, ACFN; the Plumber is responsible to plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls of ACFN's facilities, housing construction sites and residential homes.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES



Study the building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials. Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures. Installing water conditioners Installing plumbing in houses under construction. Installing plumbing in commercial, institutional, industrial, or public buildings. Renovating, maintaining, and repairing existing plumbing. Install private sewage disposal systems and potable water distribution systems. Install, service, balance HRV systems. Install plumbing systems. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing plumbing and heating equipment. Work with customers and other contractors on-site. Perform various installation, repair, maintenance, and services both individually and part of a crew. Install, service or replace fixtures, water heaters, pumps etc. Drain cleaning and video/locate inspections of lines. Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS



Journeyman Plumber certification or equivalent. Two (2) years of Plumber experience, required. Experience with oil fired furnaces and boiler systems required. Experience working in the service industry, is an asset. Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence, and own or have access to a vehicle. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as a team. Ability to speak or understand Dene, is an asset. Excellent customer service skills. Microsoft Windows environment; Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent communications skills. Ability to deal tactfully with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality. Ability to be successful with a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and a criminal record check. Occasional travel and to travel within the hamlet and is a condition of employment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and is a condition of employment. Willingness to sign a Confidentiality Agreement. Willingness to work in a diverse workforce. Willingness to relocate or commute to Fort Chipewyan, AB.
Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
