As a Journeyperson Parts Technician, you will issue and acquire parts required by various Fleet divisions including Heavy Equipment, Light Vehicles, Body Shop and Manufacturing. Primary duties include:

Search for parts by checking parts manuals, online manufacturer catalogues, historical charges to units and contacting suppliers by phone or online. Issue parts as required utilizing radio frequency bar-coding equipment. Order and purchase non-inventory stock from approved suppliers using corporate credit card and on occasion city purchase order (PO). Receive material from suppliers verify items for accuracy and quantity and enter the purchase order receipt into PeopleSoft FSCM. Track and reconcile parts inventory by entering and verifying data (for example: part number, description, prices and suppliers) in PeopleSoft, generating item labels and bin tags that identify parts and location, ensuring accuracy from receiving to placement on shelf. Maintain inventory accuracy by counting and reconciling inventory, looking for data entry or counting errors. Enter receipts into AssetWorks M5 and reconcile credit card statements. Operate forklift, pallet jack, and possibly a City vehicle as required. Perform general warehouse housekeeping duties such as bin maintenance and equipment upkeep. Support Fleet Maintenance, Body Shop and Manufacturing across multiple locations.


Pre-employment Drug Test:

An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.
