Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a Journeyperson Industrial Electrician reporting to the Equipment Engineering Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office. The Journeyperson Industrial Electrician participates in all phases of rebuild, construction and maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and machine tools. Determine usability of machinery and equipment and methods of repair. Work with Facilities, Engineering and supervisor to solve design, developmental and other like problems. This position may require evenings and midnight shifts. Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Plant Facility electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems to optimum operating efficiency, diagnose and correct malfunctions, modify, calibrate, test and certify such typical facilities as load centers, power panels, generators, transformers, heaters, CNC, time clock and communication systems, machining centers, autoclave, overhead crane, heat treat controls and programmable equipment controls.
  • Install and connect electrical, electronic and pneumatic control systems of Plant Facilities, and perform necessary corrective operations and adjustments at the time of installation to ensure facilities operate as required.
  • Determine power and load requirements, wire size, current required and demand load with respect to distance from power source.
  • Lead and work with employees engaged in the maintenance, repair, calibration, adjustment, modification, and test of industrial electrical, electronic and pneumatic facilities including programmable logic controllers, CNC controllers and related equipment.
  • Use schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, vendor manuals, and applicable national, provincial and municipal specifications, codes and ordinances.
  • Repair, and rebuild electrical motors and generators.
  • Use electrical and electronic test instruments, measuring devices, and shop tools.
  • Perform work described in other maintenance classifications when incidental but necessary to the accomplishment of the assignment.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Must have a high school diploma or recognized Canadian equivalent.
  • Must possess a Red Seal Journeyperson Electricians Ticket.
  • Must have 5 years’ experience working as a Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
  • Willingness to work evening and/or midnight shifts would be preferred.
  • Experience with complex electrical controls and PLC’s (preferably with CNC equipment) would be an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with electric forklift maintenance and repair would be considered an asset.
  • Electrical contractors license would be considered an asset.
