Position Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled
Journeyman Electrician
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and industrial electrical work, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive job site.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including distribution and control equipment (e.g., switches, relays, panels, and enclosures)
Plan, layout, and install conduit, wiring, and electrical systems to meet code and customer specifications
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in both new and existing systems
Mentor and support apprentices and junior team members
Install data cabling and low-voltage systems
Test circuits and systems to ensure performance and safety
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid Journeyman Electrician certification (Red Seal preferred)
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial or industrial settings
Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and safety regulations
Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
Physical strength and stamina to work in physically demanding environments
Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
Strong communication and leadership skills
Willingness to work out of town when required
Availability for a 40-hour workweek with overtime as needed
Legally eligible to work in Canada -- we are not able to sponsor work visas
Preferred Experience
Candidates with direct experience in the oil and gas sector or who have worked on bulk plant or fuel system installations will be given preference. However, we welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills and a solid electrical foundation, even if their background is more unconventional.
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications
