Silverhill Acura is seeking an experienced automotive journeyman technician with Honda/Acura experience to join our team. Candidates with Level 4 (Diagnostics Certification) Training will be considered first. Pay with incentives will be based on experience.
As a key member of the Silverhill Acura team, the Technician brings to life the Acura Concierge Experience. This position reports to the Service Consultant, Service Manager, and/or Assistant Service Manager.
The Technician is responsible for working attentively in maintaining, repairing, and servicing customer vehicles to ensure safety and customer satisfaction as well as overall department success. A key objective of the Technician is to create brand loyalty.
The Technician is an excellent communicator and expert listener and is a master at executing each element within the Service process. The Technician is results-oriented and has an eagle eye for "the details." They continually work at becoming a Product Knowledge Expert and strive to provide each customer with a flawless and top-notch service experience.
The Technician is focused on upholding the Acura values and brand standards to create an unparalleled customer experience in the service department.
As a team player, the Technician strives to develop collaborative relationships throughout the dealership.
Job Responsibilities:
Be detail and task-oriented
Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Diagnose the source of any malfunctions and perform repair.
Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
Provide written, prioritized quotes for necessary additional work.
Explain procedures and repairs directly to the Service Advisor.
Perform road tests.
Perform safety inspections.
Review and analyze actions regularly to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
Encourage compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Be a strong communicator
Greets all customers warmly.
Update the Service Consultant throughout the service process (eg. when there is an issue, when the car goes to detailing for a car wash, when the work is completed).
Using strong written communication skills, clearly and concisely document findings throughout the service process.

Education & Experience:
College Diploma or Trade School Certificate in Automotive Studies, or equivalent.
Strong product knowledge.
Strong aptitude of technical/mechanical repairs.
Valid Automotive Service Technician (AST) Certification of Qualification, Class A.
Ozone depletion certificate.
Valid Driver's License for province of employment.
Ideally two (2) years minimum as an Automotive Service Technician.
One (1) year Acura or Honda product experience.
Dealership experience preferred.
