Corma Industries is a modern ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing facility in southeast Calgary, Alberta. We specialize in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) production runs and prototyping for a variety of industries including oil & gas, aviation, aerospace, defense, mining, heavy infrastructure, construction, food and beverage, and exploration. We are recruiting for an experienced Journeyman/woman Machinist to assist us with our busy work schedule. Duties include:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables;
- Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job;
- Programming, setting up and operating CNC milling centres and lathes;
- Running first-offs and probing;
- Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects;
- Documenting and reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances, maintaining inspection records and completing inspection reports;
- Experience with FANUC Controls essential;
- Knowledge of GIBBS software an asset.
- The candidate will hold a Journeyman Machinist Certificate or be a 3rd or 4th year apprentice;
- Possess 3 or more years recent experience, preferably in a jobbing shop setting;
- Expert knowledge of and ability to use quality inspection tools;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines is essential;
- Ability to think on your feet to troubleshoot;
- Experience with Fanuc Controls a must, Solid Works and GIBBS is an asset;
- Passion for continuous learning and advancement;
- Must be able to communicate at an advanced level in English, both written and verbal.
