Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and detail-oriented

Residential Journeyman Electrician

to join our team full-time. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential electrical systems in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Maintenance

Install, maintain, and repair residential electrical systems (wiring, lighting, control systems). Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes.

Troubleshooting

Diagnose and repair electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment. Identify potential hazards or code violations and recommend solutions.

Inspection & Testing

Conduct system testing and ensure continuity and safety. Perform inspections and suggest improvements or necessary repairs.

Safety & Compliance

Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations. Maintain current knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code. Obtain and manage required permits.

Collaboration & Communication

Work effectively with apprentices, contractors, and project managers. Communicate clearly with clients to ensure understanding and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program. Valid

Journeyman Electrician License (Alberta)

Experience

Minimum 8 years of electrical experience (residential focus preferred). Proven ability to deliver high-quality, code-compliant work.

Skills

Solid understanding of electrical theory and CEC standards. Proficient with electrical testing tools and equipment. Strong blueprint/schematic reading skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. Physically able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
