Job Summary:

We're looking for a skilled

Journeyman Welder/Fitter

to join our team. You'll be responsible for interpreting blueprints, fabricating, and welding various metal structures and components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multiple welding processes, a strong understanding of fitting techniques, and a proven track record of producing high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine the scope of work. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and parts using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Perform welding using various processes, including but not limited to:

SMAW

(Stick),

GMAW

(MIG),

GTAW

(TIG), and

FCAW

. Lay out, cut, fit, and weld metal components to form a complete product or structure. Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and cutting torches. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on time. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding and fitting processes.

Qualifications:

Valid Journeyman Welder/Fitter certification or equivalent. 3+ years of proven experience as a Journeyman Welder/Fitter. Proficiency in multiple welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW). Strong knowledge of metallurgy and various metal types (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum). Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols. Excellent fitting and layout skills.

CWB, ABSA

, or other relevant certifications are considered an asset. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions for extended periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
