:Wood is currently accepting applications for Journeyperson Offshore Rigger personnel (Adhoc) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This role will be located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador and will be a casual call-out role. The successful candidate will be willing and eligible to travel Offshore via helicopter or supply vessel.As a rigger Journeyperson, you will be responsible for development of rigging plans, lay out, fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of various rigging systems, supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for industrial production, processing systems and general maintenance. In this role you will also be using power tools, various rigging equipment, and hand tools. You will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions. Work may be indoors or outdoors, and at extreme temperatures.In our recruitment and hiring process at Wood Canada Ltd. (incl.   • Follow all company and site-specific safety rules. Working within the Company\'s Safety Program at all times. Maintaining behaviour-based safety essentials and adherence to the Life Saving Rules - Specifically lifting and hoisting. Understand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to adequately comprehend and communicate using the English Language
  • Listen and communicate effectively and respectfully. Work as a part of a team, under the direction of a foreman and/or general foreman. Maintain motivation to work safely and productively
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, understanding and following specifications and drawings
  • Apply mathematics and geometry to solve problems
  • Plan work and select proper tools, rigging equipment, materials and machinery
  • Follow safety procedures for all lifting and rigging operations. Understand and utilize proper hand signals and terminology, developing and adhering to lift plans
  • Select type and size of rigging and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, slings etc, according to job specifications
  • Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions
  • Coordinate sequences of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
  • Secure equipment to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
  • Lifting and rigging equipment for maintenance, replacement or new installation
  • Use pneumatic and/or hydraulic testing equipment
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:Qualifications
  • All Riggers must demonstrate competence in their trade
  • Fall arrest certificate is required when working at heights
  • The following Offshore Certificates and Training is required and would be considered an asset:
  • Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA
  • Advanced rigging
  • Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman
  • Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)
  • Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Emergency First Aid
Physical Requirements
  • Must pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test, as required by the customer
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
  • Able to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol
  • May be required consistently to work 12-hour shifts performing physical labour in varying temperature extremes and conditions. May be required to work overtime on occasion
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework, utilizing proper fall arrest procedures when required. Able to safely and comfortably work at heights without posing a danger to oneself or others
  • Able to meet physical requirements of frequent walking, climbing, standing, bending, twisting and crawling for the duration of the shift
