Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson to join our team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in various trades, including plumbing, welding, boiler systems, HVAC, and appliance repair. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic environment focused on maintenance, construction, and system troubleshooting. The Journeyperson will be instrumental in ensuring the safe, efficient operation of equipment and infrastructure across multiple projects.

Duties

Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, HVAC systems, boilers, and appliances according to specifications and schematics Conduct welding and mechanical work to support construction and maintenance projects Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately execute tasks Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues across various systems and implement effective solutions Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems and perform preventative maintenance Assist with the installation of new equipment and infrastructure upgrades Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations Document work performed accurately for maintenance records and compliance purposes

Qualifications

MUST BE A JOURNEYPERSON REFRIGERATION MECHANIC*

Proven experience as a Journeyperson or in a similar skilled trade role with a focus on plumbing, welding, HVAC, or mechanical systems Strong knowledge of boiler systems, appliance repair, and general construction practices Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals with precision Mechanical aptitude with experience operating relevant tools and equipment Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently Relevant certifications or licenses in plumbing, welding, HVAC, or related fields are preferred Strong safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
