Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Hydronic / Boiler Plumber / Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boiler and hydronic heating / cooling systems, pumps, valves, and associated waterline work. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a deep understanding of hydronics, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair hydronic heating and cooling systems (e.g. boilers, radiant floor heat, fan coils, etc.)
Service boilers: perform inspections, start?ups, burner tuning, combustion analysis, safety & control checks
Install, maintain, or repair pumps, valves, pressure reducing valves, expansion tanks, sensors, and controllers
Work on domestic water lines: routing, connections, fittings, leak repair, etc.
Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints and specifications
Perform system balancing, pressure / flow testing, and troubleshooting
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely
Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and communicate clearly with management and clients
Clean and organize work area after job completion
Respond to emergency service calls if required (overtime / on-call duties may apply)
Required Skills & Qualifications
Journeyperson plumber; additional hydronic / HVAC certification is a strong advantage
Several years (e.g. 3-5+) experience in hydronic heating & cooling system work, boiler service, and pump systems
Proficiency in working with pumps, valves, pressure reducing valves, control systems, sensors, thermostats
Ability to read and interpret drawings, plumbing / mechanical schematics
Solid troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose system issues logically
Familiarity with local plumbing / mechanical codes and safety regulations
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Good physical fitness: ability to lift, climb, bend, work in tight or elevated mechanical rooms
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; reliability and professionalism
