Job Description

Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment throughout the Division.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in HVAC heating/plumbing systems Assist with routine preventative maintenance of plumbing fixtures, drainage and sewage systems Support renovations, including rough-ins, fixture installation and finishing work Maintain and repair hydronic heating/chilled water systems including pipes and control valves Conduct testing and repairs for cross-connection and backflow protection systems Clean air conditioning and heating units Complete monthly safety checks on relief/pressure valves Assist mechanical trades with pipe installs, heating lines, pumps and other mechanical systems

Required Qualifications

Valid Plumbing/Heating Journeyman Certificate - Red Seal/HVAC Tech Valid Class 5 Drivers License Class A Gas Fitter would be an asset Computer experience with HVACR control systems, facilities management systems and DDC Automatic controls Minimum of five years' experience with HVAC Systems Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings and understand motor schematics Strong communication skills both oral and written Strong technical/troubleshooting skills Ability to work with minimal supervision and to take initiative

Pay: From $41.72 per hour
