We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems and installations, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and delivering high-quality electrical work.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential & commercial settings
Fix and relocate electrical receptacles and outlets
Reset tripped breakers and diagnose electrical panel issues
Install and replace light fixtures, switches, and electrical components
Connect electrical systems for hot water tanks and HVAC units
Respond to electrical emergency calls as prioritized by Construction Manager
Complete work orders and service tickets based on priority system
Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems
Conduct electrical inspections and identify potential issues
Ensure all work meets Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable standards
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using logic controllers and other diagnostic tools.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations and repairs.
Work with low voltage systems as needed, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
Valid Ontario journeyman electrician license (309A Construction Electrician or 442A Industrial Electrician are an added bonus)
Minimum 3-5 years experience as a journeyman electrician
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including industrial electrician experience.
Experience in construction, industrial, or maintenance electrical work
Familiarity with commercial/industrial electrical systems
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and CEC standards
Experience with electrical panel work and circuit analysis
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good time management and organizational skills
Professional communication skills
Flexibility to respond to emergency calls when required
Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting electrical issues.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
