What You'll Do?
As a
Solar Electrician
, you will be part of a team that installs solar PV systems on residential properties. Your role involves ensuring that these systems function properly and resolving any electrical issues that may arise. You will work closely with customers, explaining technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Responsibilities
Install solar PV systems, including electrical wiring, mounting of inverters and panels
Conduct site assessments to ensure suitability for solar panel installation.
Connect solar panels to electrical systems and perform necessary grounding.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed solar energy systems.
Ensure compliance with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local regulations.
Perform quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical concepts in simple terms.
Work collaboratively with other team members and contractors.
Conduct regular maintenance and repair of existing solar installations.
Stay updated on the latest solar technology and industry best practices.
Assist in managing material usage and updating documentation as required.
Work with Project Managers and homeowners to fulfill system upgrades or repairs.
Interface with local city/provincial inspectors to meet building requirements.
Develop positive relationships with customers to gather facilities assessment data
Provide and maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record.
Qualifications & Additional Details
Must have 5+ years of electrical experience.
Must have 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting single-line drawings and electrical schematics.
Experience in the solar industry is preferred.
Must possess current and valid electrical licensing (Journeyman Card).
Ability to perform advanced electrical calculations and navigate the CEC.
Knowledge of wire, conduit sizing, and adjustments for environmental factors.
Experience replacing electrical services and distribution panels.
Strong team environment and communication skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Comfortable climbing ladders and working on roofs using PPE in various environments.
Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.
