The Toronto Star is hiring an experienced, authoritative, and energetic journalist to join our newsroom as an Arts & Culture Reporter with a dedicated focus on owning the arts beat of Toronto. This role falls within the Journalist classification in the Star's Editorial Department.
The ideal candidate is an experienced reporter with the drive and contacts to authoritatively cover the city's major arts stories, including its institutions and power players. This includes confidently handling sensitive and complex issues within the arts community, while also providing comprehensive coverage of large-scale cultural events. This role requires the ability to identify and report on the biggest stories in the city's arts landscape and to also produce shorter, high-impact written pieces and multimedia that resonate with our audience.
Journalists can be re-assigned to any newsroom department across a variety of assignments and locations, depending on future business needs.
