Job Summary

Fuels Affiliates Affairs Department (FAAD) is the designated shareholder representative of This Company\'s equity interest in domestic and international affiliates. FAAD manages This Company portfolio investments to maximize value and achieve profitable and sustainable performance. This is achieved through alignment of affiliate and corporate strategies, supporting affiliates by unlocking synergies within the portfolio, and delivering technical engineering and human resource support while providing oversight to This Company management. FAAD also liaise with JV partners on matters ranging from corporate governance, government regulations, venture strategy, contract management, and providing performance updates to executive management and affiliates board members. Joint venture manager is the focal point of contact between This Company and JV. Oversees financial performance of the JV and issue periodic reports to management. Monitor corporate governance, provide board support along with partner relationships management. Facilitation of This Company interests into JV, and facilitation of This Company services to JV as applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Briefing company directors on key decisions and preparing support materials for Board meetings.
  • Overseeing or conducting analysis on joint ventures (JVs) and preparing internal approval materials for capital investments, while managing review and alignment processes.
  • Assisting JVs in accessing company resources and services, such as skills, data, tools, best practices, and relationships.
  • Monitoring and managing information requests, audits, site visits, and communications between This Company and JVs.
  • Understanding all interfaces, including services and support agreements, between the company and JVs, and intervening when necessary to ensure value creation and support maintenance.
  • Managing ongoing operational and financial performance reporting, including internal metrics/tracking and investor-level reporting.
  • Contributing to the development of the company\'s strategy and business plan for JVs.
  • Developing and implementing a coordinated influencing plan aligned with the company\'s approved strategy and business plan.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for performance improvement or synergy capture, developing associated business cases, and negotiating with JVs/partners for adoption.
  • Functionally leading a This Company JV asset management team.
  • Developing and updating risk registries for JVs, including separate registries for company and JV risks.
  • Collaborating with This Company\'s Board to develop and update the company\'s strategy for specific JVs, assessing their continued strategic fit within the Downstream portfolio, and initiating restructuring when necessary.
Requirements:
  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the industry.
  • A thorough knowledge of engineering practices, US codes, standards, and specifications.
  • High-level understanding of technical and operational issues in refining and/or petrochemical facilities, with in-depth technical knowledge being a plus.
  • Understanding of planning, economics, and financial controls related to OPEX, CAPEX, investment decisions, NPV calculation, and business case development.
  • Familiarity with the social, political, regulatory, and economic context in Saudi Arabia, particularly as it relates to the Downstream sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, both orally and in writing, to convey issues, strategies, and recommendations.
  • Strong planning, management, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to understand and align with strategic objectives in joint ventures, as well as those of partner(s).
  • Familiarity with best practices for managing partnerships.
  • Has certificate Fundamental of Engineers (FE) certificate (preferred).
