VPI is a Service Provider for Employment Ontario, which is funded by the Ontario Government to support jobseekers and employers. VPI has been delivering employment programs for more than 30 years. We are based in Mississauga and have 17 branches across Southern Ontario. We are looking for a Permanent Full-time, Job Developer based out of our Scarborough location.

Key Job Functions

+ Build and maintain strong employer relationships through outreach, meetings, and participation in job fairs and networking events. + Manage KPIs including employer registrations, incentive agreements, and budgets.
+ Negotiate and oversee employment placements, contracts, and training plans to ensure successful outcomes.
+ Match employer needs with client skills, coordinate interviews, and monitor progress.
+ Organize hiring events and share sector-specific job leads and labour market insights.
+ Provide job search support to clients individually and in groups.
+ Assess employer needs and match them with client skills.
+ Maintain accurate employer records and manage relationships.
+ Coordinate interviews, negotiate placement terms, and follow up.
+ Stay informed on labour market trends and share relevant job leads with clients.
+ Develop Employment Action Plans (EAPs) tailored to client goals and barriers.
+ Provide individualized coaching in resumes, interviews, job applications, and job search strategies.
+ Support clients and employers during onboarding and employment transitions.
+ Connect clients with specialized services (e.g., credentialing, newcomer supports, mentorship)
+ Guide clients in understanding employment contracts before signing.
+ Maintain an active caseload, including all file management responsibilities.
+ Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to enhance employer engagement.
+ Maintain employer databases, track metrics, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
+ Respond to service inquiries, conduct screenings, and provide referrals as needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

+ Experience in client needs assessments and employment coaching. + Proven ability to support diverse clients, including those with complex barriers.
+ Strong background in employer outreach, business development, and job matching.
+ Skilled in promoting clients--including specialized populations--to employers.
+ Experience planning events, workshops, and training sessions.
+ Proficient with digital tools (Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, social media).
+ Knowledge of confidentiality standards and professional codes of conduct.
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
+ Meet or exceed targets for employer outreach, placements, and retention.
+ Keep accurate records of client activities, employer contacts, and outcomes.
+ Apply creativity and initiative in developing strategies for client success.
+ Contribute actively to a collaborative team environment.
