Exchanger Industries is currently seeking a dynamic Journeyman Welder!

Scope:

Reporting to the Lead hand, the journeyman welder performs welding and fabrication work following construction drawings, within the Air Cool department.

Accountabilities

Scheduling:

Completes daily assigned manufacturing orders Adheres to the daily production schedule Manages work pace to meet/ exceed production budgets

Safety:

Adheres to all company policies, procedures, including safety and quality requirements Reports faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and takes necessary actions to correct the issue Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all policies and procedures Ensure equipment and tools are stored in there designated area in a safe and secure manner Ensures the work areas are maintained, are clean and organized, free from waste, trash and any hazards Stops and reports all unsafe acts

Production/Quality:

Operate manual, semi-automatic and automatic welding equipment to complete full thickness welds to join metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, metal core arc, shielded metal arc, and submerged arc welding Performs a variety of production functions that is in line with the production schedule Detect faulty operations of equipment or defective materials and take necessary actions to correct and notify supervisors Supports the cost of quality program and proactively engages in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving the effectiveness s and efficiency of departmental operations

Communication/People:

Effectively communicates with all levels of management and employees Collaborate with all employees, departments and leads by example with limited supervision Listens and understand daily team and performance expectation Actively participates in daily tailgates and weekly tool box talks

Skill and Qualifications__________________________________________________________________

Alberta Journeyman's welding certificate

all positions CWB/FCAW

Must hold a valid CWB certification in either SMAW or FCAW in all weld positions 3 to 5 years experience within a heavy industrial fabrication environment Able to read and follow fabrication drawings for all aspects of Air Cool sections and structures Experience with structural welding/fitting and is able to follow and interpret weld procedures Experience welding various metals, such as steel, aluminum and stainless steel would be an asset Must be familiar with the operation of tools common to the welding/fitting trades Strong technical ability, including ability to diagnose defects in welds and in welding equipment A good understanding of welding processes, materials and welding equipment Excellent communication skills (verbally and in written form) Ability to work well under pressure, as an individual and as part of a team

Work Conditions____________________________________________________________________

Heavy industrial fabrication environment, requiring the use of PPE Standing and walking, some crawling or kneeling for specific tasks Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds Good manual dexterity required Rig, hoist and move material to different areas of the shop or within the worksite Use of ladders, stands and scaffolding as necessary, to inspect the required job Ability to work at heights over 10 feet and within small or confined areas Ability to work all shifts. Days, Afternoons and Midnights if required

Pay: From $38.04 per hour
