Our Prosserman JCC Daycare & Preschool Management Team is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join us for a 12-18 month contract in an exciting role overseeing admissions and operations. The Prosserman JCC Daycare is licensed for 242 children aged infant to JK/SK, operating a renowned daycare/preschool with 12 classrooms in our state-of-the-art facility.

Candidates must hold a valid Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) certification and have prior experience in daycare administration. This is an on-site role at our Sherman Campus in North York, requiring a 9-hour workday (including a one-hour lunch break) and will be reporting into our Director of Education.



Key Responsibilities include:



Admissions, Enrollment, and General Administration:



Manage the full admissions and enrollment process, including waitlist maintenance and oversight. Ensure all registration packages are complete and comply with regulatory requirements before each child's start date. Oversee recordkeeping, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance. Coordinate AQI (Assessment for Quality Improvement) checks and procure necessary items to maintain compliance with the City of Toronto's standards.

Budgets and Operations:



Manage payroll and expenses in accordance with finance department protocols. Analyze staffing and budget needs to ensure appropriate management of ratios and operational standards.

Ministry of Education/Public Health Compliance:



Ensure ongoing compliance with Ministry standards by maintaining necessary documentation and adhering to licensing requirements. Implement and monitor standard protocols for safety, health, emergency procedures, and additional policies. Address any deficiencies identified during inspections and develop corrective action plans as needed. Regularly review and update policies and procedures to reflect changing regulatory requirements. Conduct routine safety drills and identify and resolve any concerns.

Food Services:



Collaborate with the caterer to develop cost-effective, high-quality menus that meet dietary restrictions and cater to children's nutritional needs.

Facilities:



Manage regular inspections of indoor and outdoor facilities, coordinate facility-related concerns and oversee maintenance and improvements to ensure a safe environment

Marketing and Communications:



Produce the daycare newsletter to keep families and staff informed and engaged Maintain external JCC Daycare communication platforms to ensure current information is available. Monitor Lillio emails to maintain effective communication with families. Develop marketing briefs for the marketing department to support further outreach efforts

Administrative Support:



Maintain organized filing systems for all administrative documents, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with record-keeping standards. Provide general office support, including photocopying, scanning, and managing correspondence. Coordinate the scheduling of meetings and appointments as needed. Support the Director of Education and Assistant Director with administrative tasks as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:



Act as the R-ECE Designate in the absence of Director or Assistant Director. Provide classroom coverage to maintain staff-to-child ratios when necessary, ensuring compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) standards. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the childcare centre.

Skills and Experience required:



Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with several years of experience in daycare administration within the City of Toronto.

Extensive knowledge of City of Toronto regulations, AQI standards, and Ministry of Education licensing requirements.

Passionate educator with strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with children, family and staff.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong administrative and time-management abilities.

Proficient in technology and digital tools used in childcare administration (e.g., Lillio, Microsoft Office, email platforms).

Superior oral and written English language skills, ensuring clear, professional communication across all channels. have knowledge and connection to Jewish culture, traditions, and Israel, and you relate intrinsically to the JCC vision and mission.
