Venuiti is looking for a

Senior Java Developer

to join our growing engineering team in Waterloo. This is a

hands-on technical role with leadership responsibility

, ideal for someone who enjoys coding, mentoring, and working closely with cross-functional teams on real-world healthcare systems.

Work Model:

Fully on-site Monday to Friday to enable close collaboration with engineering, product, and integration teams.

What You'll Be Working On

Enterprise Java applications supporting healthcare system integrations Scalable backend services focused on performance, security, and reliability Long-term projects with real-world impact in healthcare technology

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend systems Lead by example through hands-on development and code reviews Support and mentor a small team of developers Collaborate with architects, analysts, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions Participate across the SDLC: design, development, testing, and deployment Contribute to DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments Help define and improve development standards and best practices

What We're Looking For

Required

6+ years of professional Java development experience Strong expertise in Java (Spring / Spring Boot) Experience building backend or integration-heavy systems Solid understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Comfortable working in an on-site, collaborative environment

Nice to Have

Experience leading or mentoring developers Exposure to Java 17, Spring Security Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and DevOps practices Healthcare integration experience (FHIR, HL7) Experience working on enterprise-scale systems

Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
