ESG

A career in our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Reporting & Assurance practice, will provide you the opportunity to work with organizations on building trusted information they need to make sound decisions. Using advanced technology, we\xe2\x80\x99re able to focus on establishing the right controls, processes and structures for our clients to ensure that decisions are based on accurate information and assure that information provided to third parties is accurate, complete, and can be trusted. Future reporting won\xe2\x80\x99t just be about financials - it will also be about measures like people insights, intellectual capital, and social and environmental impacts.

ESG is at the top of the agenda for many organizations, but many are at different stages in understanding how they should respond. As part of our team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll focus on identifying and prioritizing sustainability issues, setting goals that support alignment and integration of the sustainability vision into overall corporate strategy, and implementing processes, controls, systems, and dashboards to measure progress for consistent and accurate reporting. Our established team includes economists, natural scientists, engineers, finance and accounting professionals \xe2\x80\x93 working with some of the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading organizations towards an economy with purpose.

Our ESG Reporting & Assurance professionals help organizations effectively manage ESG risk and opportunities, while also navigating through increasingly complex regulatory requirements. We\xe2\x80\x99re helping future proof businesses by making them more resilient and sustainable.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll create and do

As a Co-op or Winter Intern in our Accelerate program, you\'ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

Qualitative and quantitative research using ESG data

Develop and execute on assurance procedures related to ESG attestation engagements

Evaluation of organizations\xe2\x80\x99 processes & controls to support external reporting

Complex technical accounting and analysis of GAAP impacts related to ESG

Apply analytical skills and specialist knowledge with our world-class client base

Assist in developing appropriate disclosures in accordance with approved ESG reporting standards and framework

Contribute effectively to complex, multi-disciplinary projects \xe2\x80\x93 often supporting several projects at a time

Helping our clients improve the way they report and build trust around their sustainability performance

Assisting our clients in tackling climate change issues and opportunities by providing Greenhouse Gas reporting, quantification, and assurance

Support internal and external thought leadership, while building client relationships and providing industry insight on ESG

Providing ESG reporting & assurance services to household names in a diverse range of industries \xe2\x80\x93 everyone from big-name broadcasters to multinational banks, telecoms operators and energy companieS

Participate in client meetings and assist in preparation of deliverables and reports

Business development activities such as assistance in preparation of budgets and proposals and initiating marketing of services to new and existing clients

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring to this role

Enrolled in or completed post-secondary education and pursuing the Canadian CPA designation

An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives

Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate new ideas

Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills; an ability to think broadly and to ask questions about data, facts and other information to deliver quality to our clients

Share and collaborate effectively with others, building relationships which are genuine and rooted in trust

Ability to easily adapt and prioritize, demonstrating project management skills to handle changing priorities

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be comfortable traveling to cities across Canada (when deemed safe to do so by applicable public health or regulatory authorities and PwC)

This role requires that you are legally entitled to work for PwC in Canada for the intended duration of the offer/contract.

We\'d love it even more if you\xe2\x80\x99re bilingual in English and French, however this isn\'t a requirement.
