The Position - Janitor - Part Time

Qualifications that you bring to the position;

• Commence work at 6AM. Finish at 10AM. Monday-Friday
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Pleasant mannerism and demeanor
• Self starter - must complete all daily tasks satisfactorily
• Ability to lift 20 kgs regularly
• Be on your feet all the time
• Excellent communication skills in English ( written and spoken )
• Well-organized, highly responsible
• Determines appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to accomplish job
• Requisitions supplies, equipment, tools, and materials as needed.
• Maintains cleaning records
• Gather and empty trash and recycling
• Properly mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using both step and extension ladders
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies
• Be comfortable driving a mechanical floor sweeper
• Safely use a motorized cardboard shredder
• Monitor, identify and •report• possible repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Observe appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week

Flexible language requirement:

• French not required

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• St. Thomas, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
• janitorial: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

• English (preferred)
