Creation Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, reliable
Janitor / Building Custodian
to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of interior and exterior facilities, and surrounding grounds. This includes performing various cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, self-starter and willing to take on additional tasks as required.
Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize reception, office areas, meeting/board rooms, washrooms and fixtures, breakrooms, other common areas as assigned
Sweeping, mopping, polishing, waxing, and vacuuming floors
Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, etc.
Mixing and using industrial cleaning solutions as applicable
Replenish supplies in restrooms and breakrooms
Clean snow/ice from walkways and parking areas
Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines
Assist with setting up and breaking down for meetings and events
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request new supplies as needed
Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks as needed
Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to Facilities Leader promptly and follow-up
Tasks as assigned by Facilities Leader
Requirements
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Previous experience as janitor, cleaner, building maintenance, or in a similar role cleaning residential, commercial, office properties
Knowledge of sanitation/cleaning processes and equipment, cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
Knowledge of proper personal protective equipment use for various tasks
Knowledge of safe food handling a plus
Strong attention to detail, ensuring clean and safe environment
Commitment to quality, safety, and customer service
Good communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong time management and prioritization skills to cover multiple designated areas per day
Ability to safely lift materials up to 50lbs, safely handle heavy equipment / machinery
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends as needed
Working Conditions:
The position entails prolonged standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, etc. Use of ladders may be required.
Repetitive motions
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and other materials used in janitorial work.
May need to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, and weather conditions.
May move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.

Shift:
Day, Monday to Friday 7AM-3:30PM
