Sacred Heart School of Halifax

is seeking a reliable and dedicated part-time janitor to maintain the cleanliness of our campus, with a focus on our two gyms, corridors, entrance ways, and washrooms. This position involves both weekday and weekend cleaning duties, as well as assisting with event setup and weekend reception coverage.

Responsibilities



Weekday Duties



General housekeeping tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and glass cleaning Cleaning and restocking washrooms

Weekend Duties



Cleaning areas impacted by weekend gym rentals, including dry and wet mopping of gym floors, entrance ways, corridors, stairwells, and washrooms Setting up tables and chairs for events Providing reception desk coverage during weekend rentals

Requirements



Ability to perform physical labour Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently Good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, staff, and visitors Previous experience in building cleaning is an asset

Job Details



Job Type:

Part-time (mid-September to mid-June)

Pay:

$17.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected Hours:

Approximately 4 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday, with some flexibility depending on needs

Typical Schedule -

Sunday 5pm to 9pm, Monday to Thursday, 10am to 2pm
Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.50-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
