We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitor/Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine cleaning duties, ensuring that the building is kept in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Role and Accountability:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Dust and wipe down furniture, windowsills, baseboards, and other surfaces.
Empty trash bins and replace liners; ensure proper disposal of waste.
Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, and appliances.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor or facility manager.
Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and organized.
Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures.
Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed, including window washing, carpet cleaning, and floor waxing.
Travel between multiple locations for various cleaning tasks.
Handle any other custodial-related tasks as assigned by management.
Attend Level 10 meetings and other department meetings, representing the role and driving organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to address challenges, identify actionable solutions, and align financial strategies with overall organizational objectives.
Utilize Microsoft To-Do for task tracking and reminders to ensure efficient organization and completion of daily tasks, promoting productivity and accountability within the Department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, and pressure washers.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavily objects when necessary
Education and Experience:
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects when necessary.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry items up to up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in various environments, including different weather conditions and temperature settings.
A valid Ontario Driver's License and vehicle is required and attend multiple locations
The successful candidate will be required to work any shift necessary to meet the operational needs of the business. This may include, but is not limited to, day, afternoon/evening, and weekend shifts. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to ensure continuous support for our team.
Salary $35,776 to $52,000 annually
