Job Description

Roadtrek Inc. is currently recruiting for a Janitor to maintain the cleanliness of the facility by cleaning common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, boardrooms, floors etc. They will also ensure proper usage and storage of cleaning chemicals. This role is essential in creating a clean and safe environment and requires the individual to ensure the safe use of cleaners, soaps, chemicals and substances by following Safety Data Sheet guidelines. Regular hours of work will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, from 6:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Work hours may increase or decrease, from time to time, in accordance with the Collective Agreement or as agreed between the parties in writing.

Responsibilities

Ensure overall general cleanliness of the premises. Maintain common area walls, windows, and doors including washing and cleaning windows. Clean offices, including chairs, desks and tables. Sweep, scrub, mop and use an industrial motorized floor scrubber. Perform minor plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets. Clean and restock restrooms, locker rooms and janitor's room. Remove snow and ice from walkways, spread salt. Clean up spills with appropriate equipment. Ensure janitor room is clean, organized and stocked. Prepare cleaning solutions according to product specifications. Maintain and repair cleaning equipment as necessary. Gather and empty waste/trash and trash bins and operate the cardboard and trash compactors. Ensure all chemicals and cleaners are safely stored in proper storage containers and areas by complying with WHMIS and SDS requirements. Able to lift 50lbs as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

One (1) years' experience cleaning within a manufacturing setting Knowledgeable of chemicals, solvents and WHMIS 2015 Always wear job specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Always portray a positive and professional image Exposed to prolonged periods of standing. Regularly required to walk, kneel, or crouch Detail oriented, quick learner, dedicated, and punctual.
