Job Summary

Provide general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, managing garbage, recycling and compost, and maintaining washroom and kitchen supplies.

Your Role:

Archway's Janitor with Facilities contributes by:

Cleaning tables, toilets, sink basins, walls, windows, doors and performing vacuuming and mopping. Managing all aspects of recycling, garbage, and compost, including picking up exterior garbage, and sweeping exterior areas. Conducting spot washes, vacuuming, and cleaning carpets. Setting up and taking down equipment in rooms as required. Supplying all soap and other dispensers.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and proactive. The candidate should have good communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks, and work well with diverse groups. They must be physically fit and willing to work evenings. In addition, the candidate should be committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment and participating in essential training and development.

Getting an Interview-you will be considered if you have:

WHMIS certificate or willingness to obtain. At least one year experience working as a janitor.

The Job Requires you to have:

Good verbal, written, and active listening skills; able to communicate clearly and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and varying levels of English. Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to address concerns and suggestions respectfully. Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions safely, and work with potentially hazardous cleaning products while adhering to health and safety procedures. Ability to work evenings, as required. Ability to lift up to 60lbs and engage in constant physical activity. A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
