We are looking for Environment Co-op Students to join ATCO for 8- and 12-month terms. Positions start in January 2024 in various locations including Edmonton and Calgary.

Relocation assistance may be provided to the successful candidate.

Co-op Student Requirements (General):

  • Enrollment in a co-op (or internship) program in a recognized Canadian university
  • Excellent computer skills and experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, using appropriate technical vocabulary
  • A valid Class 5 driver\'s license and personal vehicle may be required for some positions.


Sustainability (Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment)

Discipline: Environmental Sciences and/or Sustainability Studies

Location: Edmonton

Activities:
  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection for supporting annual sustainability, quarterly ESG KPIs, monthly HSSE metrics
  • Other reporting relevant to ESG & Sustainability (e.g., Statistics Canada, NPRI, AEIR).
  • Support the ESG & Sustainability Advisor and the Sustainability Data Advisor with the compilation of reports.
  • Support development of internal communication which educates on and drives ESG & Sustainability initiatives/objectives.
  • Based on strategy - help to gather information for presentations and creating infographics/other educational materials related to ESG and sustainability
  • Assist with support of projects impacting ESG & Sustainability (e.g., emissions reduction calculations for green projects)
  • Assisting with calculations/report writing for AIS renewable projects as the requests come in
  • Identify opportunities to improve ESG & Sustainability data and target tracking and assist with the implementation of improvements.
  • Research sustainability trends and identify opportunities.
Other Qualifications:
  • Experience working with data collection and compiling reports.
  • Experience with PowerBI considered an asset.
