The James Bay Market operates every Saturday from May 6th to October 7th from 9 am to 3 pm and is composed of produce, craft and food vendors. It features weekly live music and special events throughout the season. The Sign Position reports directly to the James Bay Market Society Liasson. The contract runs from May 6 to October 7, 2023 plus mid-April sign setup and October take down (24 Weeks) with a value of $2,400 paid in bi-weekly increments. Qualifications:
Have a reliable vehicle that can hold a 3x3 ft coroplast sign and a ladder.
Have a 3-step ladder to install some signs.
A larger ladder can be provided to install two permanent signs at the beginning and end of the season.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.Tasks:
One-Time Signs:
One-time signs are 36 x 36 inches and 24 x 36 inches, weighing approximately 5 lbs.
In mid-April, all the permanent signs are put up as per sign instructions.
Signs are removed October 7th or 8th, weather permitting.
Assist a JBM Member installing our large sign advertising our Market Opening approximately two weeks prior to the James Bay Market opening.
Weekly Signs:
Weekly signs are 24 x 36 inches and made of heavy duty coroplast and weigh under 3 lbs each.
Install weekly signs every Friday evening after 4 pm or Saturday morning before 8 am beginning May 5 \xe2\x80\x93 October 8th. Our 15/16 removable signs are placed as per sign instructions.
Remove weekly signs every Saturday evening after 4 pm or Sunday before noon. All of our removable signs are taken down and stored for the following week in the JBM Shed.
Two large market flags which read \xe2\x80\x9cMarket Tomorrow\xe2\x80\x9d (located in JBM shed) are placed on the Market site. These signs are removed by our set up person.
Signs may need to be cleaned of graphite or dirt, on occasion.
After the final market all signs are cleaned, all zap straps are removed and placed in the shed in an organized manner.
Zap straps for affixing are supplied.
All signage is kept in the Market shed unless other arrangements are made.
