How will you contribute?

In this role, you will be responsible for the ongoing research, collection, integration, and analysis of Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) data gathered from a wide range of publicly available sources, social media platforms, traditional and non-traditional internet sites, and for validating the data, sources, and timeliness of such data in producing intelligence reports that proactively identify adverse information related to parliamentarians.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and linking new data with previously conducted intelligence analysis to identify security patterns and provide recommendations to senior management on the potential impacts of the information on the security of personnel, assets, facilities and institutional reputation;
  • Referring identified or adverse information for more in-depth investigation and advising senior management;
  • Preparing intelligence briefings security assessments and threat/risk analyses that enable a proactive and strategic perspective to emerging threats and trends;
  • Support decision-making through briefing and providing recommendations on mitigation measures to address evolving risk levels;
  • Providing training and guidance to parliamentarians on social media bet practices and risk avoidance. Recommending and coordinating the removal of offensive or threatening posts from social media sites when they do not meet the companies\' terms of use.
  • Maintains relationships and communicates with various internal and external security and intelligence partners to ensure effective support in the collection and validation of sensitive intelligence in support of CSD operations and in briefing executive management.
  • Makes recommendations on improving OSINT data collection processes and tools;
  • The improvement of information systems and processes.

Prerequisites
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree or a combination of training and professional experience in law, journalism, political science, international studies, criminology, or a related field;
  • In-depth knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques for conducting threat and risk assessments specifically, in identifying risks and determining when a mitigation measure must be put in place;
  • In-depth knowledge of the techniques, methods and approaches in conducting complex investigations.;
  • Experience in open-source intelligence including relevant OSINT work, or experience in the intelligence community, corporate security, private investigations, investigative journalism, law enforcement, crisis communications, public relations, or social/digital media;
  • Experience in conducting and leading complex investigations;
  • Experience in the use of open-source intelligence tools, techniques and procedures;
  • Experience in research involving the collection, integration and analysis of data from multiple open data media sources, internet and social media technology platforms;
  • Experience in identifying linkages in new data with existing intelligence analysis and reporting;
  • Experience in drafting intelligence briefings, security assessments and threat/risk analyses;
  • Knowledge of technology and other tools that support social listening, media monitoring, social network analysis and link analysis processes. Knowledge of various information management systems, software and communication tools;
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and ability to compile, analyse, prepare, organize and maintain information in an efficient manner;
  • Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously with different groups in a multi-disciplinary environment with conflicting priorities;
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
