How will you contribute?

Reporting to the Manager, Major LTVP Project Planning and Delivery, the Senior Project Advisor is accountable for the strategic planning and delivery of the Senate's most complex construction and renovation projects, and related accommodation requirements, as part of the Long-Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary Precinct. The position is responsible for ensuring the management and coordination of all strategic planning and delivery activities, assessing strategic options, establishing the project requirements and monitoring the implementation of these through to occupancy. The incumbent is expected to champion the interests of the Senate as a knowledgeable client subject-matter expert, and ensure that ultimately the requirements of the Senate are met on a project by project basis.

The general public to staff one (1) determinate position for a period of eighteen (18) months in the Property and Services Directorate.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites

  • University degree in a related field or an acceptable combination of relevant education, training and experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience overseeing significant construction projects, staff and cross-functional teams of internal experts, such as engineers, architects, interior designers, accommodation specialists, and CAD technicians, as well as external consultants;
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in program planning and delivery activities, from establishing the project requirements to the implementation and occupancy;
  • Experience providing expert advice, briefings and recommendations to senior management on complex accommodation planning and program delivery issues;
  • Ability to provide expert advice, briefings and recommendations to Senior Management on complex accommodation planning and program delivery issues;
  • Ability to consult and inform stakeholders regarding progress and changes, and to manage issues arising in the course of the projects.
