How will you contribute?

The Senior Advisor, Organizational Development provides leadership, support, and expert guidance in the development, implementation, and monitoring of key HR programs and activities. This key player assesses organizational needs, and designs and implements a wide range of strategies, programs, tools, processes to increase organizational performance, effectiveness, and skill. While overseeing two (2) direct reports, the Senior Advisor leads and advises on the creation, review, and streamlining of programs focusing on human resources development, leadership development, succession management, skills development, performance management, and building an inclusive workforce.

Develop a modern organizational learning and development strategy and program;
Lead the design, planning, development and implementation of organizational development programs;
Deliver presentations, briefings, discussion papers and other communication materials to broad audiences at the executive, management, and non-management levels; and
Lead HR projects and initiatives applying best practices in project management and change management.

The general public to staff one (1) indeterminate, full-time position in the Human Resources Directorate.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites

A bachelor\'s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related discipline OR have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
Five (5) years of progressive experience managing various aspects of organizational development and managing the evaluation, planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of programs, processes, and strategies in support of HR policies or identified HR strategic priorities;
Hands-on experience in defining and implementing HR programs and initiatives that have improved business performance, fostered retention and developed the workforce;
Strong communication skills (both written and oral) including experience with facilitation and presenting to audiences at all organizational levels;
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;
Experience presenting to and developing documentation (briefing notes, analyses, and other documents) for senior management stakeholders would be considered an asset;
Experience managing the development and implementation of programs related to recognition, succession planning and/or learning and development in a workplace context is considered an asset.
