How will you contribute?

The Lead Hand of Installation services is responsible for managing work assignments, scheduling team members, planning logistics and for verifying the overall quality of the services provided by the Installations team. The incumbent will work with his/her supervisor to establish priorities and the general work plan for the employees under their supervision. You will also be the subject matter expert responsible for educating staff on best practices and enforcing accountability, quality standards and safety rules.

The general public to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position within the Properties and Services Directorate.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of secondary education or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience;
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a role focused on installations (patch/repair/paint/furniture moves/room set ups, etc.);
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role;
  • Solid experience using software such as but not limited to MS Office Suite;
  • Expert knowledge of industry standards, techniques, practices and processes involved in the provision of installation services;
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of customers to ensure positive interactions as well as build relationships across the organization;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French)
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate and manage competing priorities and timelines;
  • A technical degree or skilled trades certificate would be considered a strong asset;
  • Knowledge of or experience working with parliamentary institutions will be considered as an asset.
