Job Description

The

IT/Network Support Specialist

provides daily technical and network support, maintains SteriPro's basic IT infrastructure, and coordinates with external vendors for hardware, software, and network needs. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can balance technical troubleshooting, network administration, and vendor management in a small company environment.

Key Responsibilities:



IT Support & Vendor Coordination:



Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, software licenses, user accounts, warranties, and service contracts. Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and small office devices. Assist with basic hardware, software, and network troubleshooting. Coordinate with external IT vendors for purchasing, repairs, upgrades, and routine maintenance. Schedule and oversee routine updates and maintenance with service providers. Assign network accounts and control user access to servers, shared folders, and databases. Map network drives, create employee folders, and manage access permissions. Monitor the health of network equipment and cloud resources. Assign computers to domains for proper on-site and remote access for SteriPro employees. Assign static IP addresses to specific MAC addresses as required.

Email & Communication Systems:



Assign email accounts to new employees and coordinate with vendors to resolve email access issues. Create and maintain email distribution lists. Manage email account backups when necessary.

Phone Systems:



Ensure phone messaging, call forwarding, and voicemail systems are correctly configured. Liaise with the VOIP provider to resolve phone system issues.

Internet & VPN:



Work with SteriPro's internet providers (Bell and Rogers) to maintain reliable connectivity. Manage wireless connectivity hardware and software. Create and manage VPN accounts for employees and external customer sites using both Bell and Rogers systems. Ensure VPN configurations allow secure access to cloud and local servers. Manage and direct internal and external network traffic through the appropriate internet sources and VPN channels.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate or coursework in IT support or network administration is an asset.

Certification in desktop support, network administration, or cloud technologies (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, CCNA) preferred.

Experience with

Microsoft Azure

cloud services is an asset. Minimum 4 years of experience in an IT support, network support, or combined administrative/technical support role. Solid understanding of computer hardware, software, and common network equipment. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate vendors and manage purchase orders or contracts. Flexible, reliable, and willing to provide assistance wherever needed.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
