The IT Systems Generalist plays a key role in keeping Mount Washington Alpine Resort's technology running smoothly. This position manages the daily administration, support, and troubleshooting of our core software and hardware systems--including but not limited to Siriusware Point of Sale and Axess gate control systems. The role supports staff across the resort with general IT needs, provides training, and helps ensure our systems are reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with operational goals. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong technical skills, the ability to connect business processes with system functionality, and a professional, approachable manner when supporting both technical and non-technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Using application specific expertise for the support and troubleshooting of both software and hardware.
Conducting application specific training.
Developing and maintaining both user and technical documentation.
Identifying and assisting in the development of reports for all aspects of the system.
Assisting all staff with general I.T. support requests.
Qualifications:
Previous experience with Siriusware, Axess, or similar resort management and POS is desirable.
Ability to link business logic with software logic.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting.
Strong verbal, written communication, and negotiations skills.
Professional attitude and work habits.
Ability and willingness to interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels.
Self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Ability to work through ambiguous work situations.
Understanding of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewalls to keep the mountain connected.
Strong knowledge in system integration experience. Comfort with connecting point-of-sale, ticketing, and access control systems with other platforms.
Knowledge in database management with ability to design, maintain, and optimize queries and reports beyond the basics.
Familiarity with data protection best practices and ability to help safeguard guest and staff information.
Must becomfortable with troubleshooting computers, printers, handheld devices, and kiosks in both office and on-mountain environments and teaching other staff how to troubleshoot.
People-first mindset: approachable and patient when supporting staff with varying levels of tech experience.
Willingness to work flexible hours: weekends, and holidays during peak season when system support is critical. Occasional evenings for system maintenance.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Should be experienced with SQL query and report design.
Due to remote location and no public transportation, must have a reliable means of transportation to and from the Resort.
