The ITS Systems Engineer will ensure all ONTC computer servers (Virtual, Physical, and Cloud), systems (VMWare, SAN Infrastructure, Azure), and equipment (PCs, Laptops, Mobile Devices) are operational, maintained, upgraded, stable, efficient, and documented. This position will also be responsible in
providing an escalation role to the ITS Service Desk, providing direction, mentorship, coverage
requirements, and request resolution.MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure backend virtualization and SAN infrastructure is available and running current hardware/software
  • Design, engineer, upgrade, implement, and monitor virtualization and SAN infrastructure
  • Collaborate with colleagues and staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software
and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes * Manage, maintain, and monitor all Microsoft servers (Physical and Virtual) and Cloudsystems (Azure, myPolicies, Questica, Cobblestone, Betterez, Intelex, DocAgent, and TalentSpace) * Responsible for Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Systems Center Configuration Manager, SharePoint, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WINS, Group Policies, Windows Update Services, File Server, Active Directory Federation Services, and Print Server.
  • Responsible for antivirus server design and engineer of new policies, upgrades, updates, and general maintenance and documentation
  • Collaborate with 3rd party Cloud providers for integrations with our systems for authentication
and data imports/exports * Responsible for the Microsoft Azure environment implementation, integration, and configuration with existing and new systems
  • Design, engineer, upgrade, implement, and monitor the ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) system (Quest Kace)
  • Perform updates or expansions and create reports for KPIs
  • Assist the manager of IT Operations with ordering all new Servers, Desktops, Laptops, and
SAN Infrastructure hardware * Assist the manager of IT Operations with hardware and software licensing
  • Assist with RFP responses for IT related requests
  • Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analysis for proposed systems to aid
management in making implementation decisions * Responsible for designing and implementing Windows Images and updates (every 6-12 months requires a new Windows Image for testing and deployment
  • Maintain software installation scripts and update software versions for deployment
  • Responsible for testing all Microsoft patches and hotfixes and deploying throughout the organization
  • Service Desk escalation point of contact (mentorship and training)
  • Resolve incidents, problems, and service requests
  • Document systems deployed, procedure documentation, and update disaster recovery documentation
REQUIREMENTS:
  • College diploma or degree in Computer Technician/Computer Networking or Information Technology Systems
  • 5+ years experience in the Information Technology field
  • Certification in MCSA, MCITP, MCSE and VMware vSphere
  • Certification in ITIL Foundations v3, CCENT and Azure AZ-104 preferred
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Service desk methodology experience to demonstrate organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with various Microsoft Servers / Systems (Windows, Azure, Exchange, SQL, SCCM, SharePoint, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Windows Updates)
  • Extensive experience with VMWare products
  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of current internet technologies
  • Proficiency with Linux and Linux servers (web servers, DNS)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical situations to non-technical colleagues
