Job Description

The IT Systems Analyst is a collaborative role that works closely with colleagues in IT Services, university stakeholders and third-party service providers. The Systems Analyst role is responsible for the day-to-day front-end development, support, security, monitoring, high-performance, availability and optimization of the university's web presence and hosting platforms. They research and recommend industry best practices and actively contribute to the development and maintenance of the university's standards, procedures and processes pertaining to websites front-end development, continuous solution deployment, security, configuration, maintenance and disaster recovery. The role works collaboratively in planning, delivering, supporting, documenting and continuously improving the university's websites, reporting and hosting capabilities.


Job Requirements
Degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field - a combination of experience and education will be considered 2+ years' experience as a Web Developer and/or Systems Analyst Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, delivering, configuring and supporting websites Understanding of website UI, UX and accessibility best practices Knowledge of HTML5, SASS/CSS3, JavaScript/JQuery, XML and basic PHP Experience with Drupal, SharePoint and/or other content management systems Understanding of web services technologies (API Development REST/JSON/SOAP) Familiarity with conventional and automated testing practices (BDD, Unit, regression) Knowledge of version control systems Familiarity with web reporting architecture strategies and development Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Advanced problem solving and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation Ability to communicate complex and technical information to others in plain language Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work as a member of a team and independently Flexible and comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment with shifting priorities





Preferred Requirements:




Knowledge and understanding of cloud-based DevOps development and continuous deployment best practices (CI/CD processes & deployment automation) Experience with Acquia hosting platforms Familiarity with Azure AD SSO Knowledge of SEO development and web analytics Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes Familiarity with Agile frameworks and project management methodologies Experience with Enterprise Architecture standards and frameworks Knowledge of evolving trends in Higher Educational technologies and support Additional Information
This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at MPT-B with a salary range of $69,908 (minimum) to $82,147 (midpoint) to $94,387 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will normally be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
