The IT Systems Administrator ensures the stability and integrity of the in-house computer network, voice, data, video, and wireless network services, by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
This individual will also supervise or participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of network or server hardware, software, and communication links, and will act as an in-house expert and escalation point to analyze and resolve network or server hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, providing guidance and support to other Network or Server Administrator resources wherever possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and follow best practices and procedures to design, deploy and maintain new and legacy systems, applications, and hardware therein, while leading and coordinating key process improvements to stabilize and optimize system performance and availability.
Plan, implement and oversee deployment of new and existing hardware equipment, software upgrades and emergency security patches, while also ensuring the maintenance of support documentation therein. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration, usage, and disaster recovery of these solutions in accordance with the organization's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Collaborate with external partners, executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term system capacity needs, and action requests to facilitate connectivity of new internal or external solutions.
Facilitate the evaluation of IT service requests within the ticketing system, prioritizing and responding to them effectively. Ensure prompt communication with end users and escalate requests to the Technical Architect or Technology Services manager as needed.
Monitor system performance and investigate problem areas as needed, and provide system performance statistics and reports as required, including but not limited to security audits, bandwidth consumption, wireless availability, system utilization metrics, etc.
Serve as the in-house expert on all server matters and help mentor junior Network/Server Administrators
Work with external vendors to obtain product information and quotes, and review and approve work done on behalf of QCH.

REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Computer Science
Four (4) years experience in related field OR In lieu of formal education, Ten (10) years of experience in related field
CCNA, Microsoft certification
Strong technical knowledge of Cisco switching, routing and security products including firewalls.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server 2019/2022/2025, SQL Server, Hyper-V, VMware, Active Directory.
Advanced knowledge of Dell EMC storage arrays, clustering, load balancing and caching procedures.
Significant experience in troubleshooting technical issues. Significant experience with technology capacity planning, cybersecurity principles and system development lifecycle methodologies and best practice
Ability to work on an "On-call" basis including evenings and weekends
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in computer science
Five (5) years+ experience as systems administrator
Certification in HL7 or healthcare integration technologies.
CCNP or CCIE, Dell EMC or VMware certifications
