EDA's signature Earth Observation mission, the EarthDaily Constellation, is currently under construction. Once operational in 2026, the EarthDaily will be the most powerful global change detection and change monitoring system ever developed, capable of generating unprecedented predictive analytics and insights. The EarthDaily Constellation will combine with the EarthPipeline data processing system to provide unprecedented, scientific-grade data of the world every day, positioning EDA to meet the growing needs of diverse industries.

PREPARE FOR IMPACT!
The IT Systems Administrator supports the day-to-day operation of the organization's IT environment by executing operational tasks across identity and access management, SaaS platforms, endpoints, and supporting infrastructure. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role contributes to the reliability, security, and consistency of IT services used across the organization.
The IT environment is modern and cloud-first, with a strong reliance on SaaS products, identity-based access controls, and cloud-hosted infrastructure. This role requires comfort working in a contemporary IT and security model, strong communication skills, sound prioritization, and a professional approach to user support. Regular onsite presence during business hours is a core requirement, as the role balances responsive in-person support with IT project and infrastructure work throughout the year.
The role requires a high degree of self-direction, including the ability to identify issues, create tickets or project work proactively, and move initiatives forward without close supervision.
Key responsibilities include:

• Executes day-to-day IT operational tasks across identity and access management, SaaS platforms, endpoints, and supporting systems in accordance with established standards and guidance.
• Administers user onboarding and offboarding activities, applying predefined access models and security practices.
• Maintains SaaS applications, licenses, and permissions, and identifies inconsistencies or issues requiring escalation.
• Supports endpoint configuration, patching, and lifecycle management across macOS and other supported operating systems.
• Provides reliable, professional onsite IT support during business hours, responding to user issues as they arise.
• Balances IT project work and user support responsibilities, adjusting focus as business priorities shift and communicating clearly when trade-offs are required.
• Contributes to IT projects, including system improvements, tooling changes, and infrastructure-related initiatives.
• Identifies operational gaps, recurring issues, or improvement opportunities, and creates tickets, tasks, or project work proactively.
• Supports conference room and AV setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
• Coordinates onboarding logistics for new hires, including device preparation, shipping, tracking, and readiness for day one. Also conducts training for new users.
• Liaises with software and service vendors to obtain operational support, track issues, and follow through to resolution.
• Documents systems, procedures, and recurring operational tasks, and updates documentation as improvements are identified.
• Collaborates with the IT Manager to support expense tracking and cost awareness, including locating receipts, identifying unused licenses, and flagging potential overspend.
• Applies sound judgment when making straightforward, low-risk decisions and escalates appropriately when broader context or trade-offs are required.

YOUR PAST MISSIONS

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, network administration, system administration or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, managing IT infrastructure, networks, and user support.
• Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), virtualization technologies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with M&A IT integration and vendor management is an asset.

YOUR TOOLKIT

• Working knowledge of macOS, Windows, and basic Linux administration.
• Experience with identity and access management platforms such as Okta or Azure AD.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and common collaboration tools.
• Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Jamf or Intune.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and routing concepts.
• Working knowledge of modern security practices across endpoints, SaaS platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with infrastructure hosted in IaaS environments.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with users and colleagues.
• Demonstrates strong prioritization skills and composure in a dynamic environment.
• Works effectively with minimal supervision, proactively organizing work and tracking progress.
• Is curious and self-motivated, with an interest in understanding how systems work and interact.
• Approaches operational work methodically, with attention to detail and documentation.
• Demonstrates reliability and accountability, particularly with onsite presence during business hours.
• Takes pride in maintaining IT systems in a thoughtful, secure, and consistent manner.

YOUR COMPENSATION
Base Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 annually
The range is based on Vancouver-derived compensation for this role. Placement within the salary range will be determined based the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, qualifications, training, education and other job-related factors.
