About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure Team in St. Brieux. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for providing foundational IT support for the IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams and play a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day functionality of the IT environment.
Please note: This position is internal only; you must be a current Bourgault employee in order to apply.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing IT infrastructure and security support
  • Identifying and resolving basic technical issues, escalating more complex problems to higher-level administrators as needed
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, hardware and software updates, system monitoring and vulnerability management
  • Maintaining documentation for system configurations, policies and procedures
  • Following security protocols and best practices to assist the IT team with threat handling and security monitoring
  • Collaborating with other systems administrators and IT team members
  • Assisting with IT operations as needed, in order to contribute to a stable and efficient IT infrastructure that supports the organization's needs
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will need 2-3 years of relevant experience and a degree or diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology.
You will also need the following knowledge and qualifications to perform this role successfully:
  • Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset, including keeping current on IT trends
  • Effective prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with Cloud and Premise Infrastructure are assets
  • Willingness/ability to work remotely from a home office based in the Saskatoon area (those located in the St. Brieux area would also be considered for a hybrid work arrangement)
Compensation
  • Tier I: $26.17 - $39.25 per hour (starting wage dependent on experience)
