IT Support Technician - Level One
The Company
Working in our wholly owned Canadian subsidiary facility in the 401 area of London Ontario, Symbio Companies is seeking a Level One IT Tech person as an addition to our staff.
Position Summary
IT Support Technician Level 1 role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary.
In addition to assisting in IT operations, additional oversight such as CCTV, alarm system, employee card access, hour timings for HVAC, security gate and electronic door lock programming also fall under this scope.

Pleasant mannerism and ability to get along with co-workers in a team environment
1st Level information systems services problem resolution: problem definition, research and resolution
Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows Active Directory
E-mail Protocol troubleshooting skills: (SMTP/POP/IMAP) and ability to diagnose email issues such as missing emails, server connection
Experience with printer management and troubleshooting
Experience with remote desktop connection software
Network media experience including 10/100/1000Base T, 10GBase-R, 10Base2, xDSL and ISDN
Microsoft Desktop / Server Deployment, Software and Hardware Inventory - Platforms: Windows 10 and Windows Server Software Deployment Automation. Tools: Disk Imaging, Patch/Software Release Management, Asset Management, System Monitoring + Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol
MS 365 Administration
Experience with VOIP installation and maintenance is desired
Excellent communication skills in English
Able to work evenings and weekends in response to the needs of the systems being supported
Ability to Travel ( to the United States once or twice annually )
Major Responsibilities
Provide support for incoming requests via email, telephone, etc
Printer repairs and maintenance
Provide support for laptops, printers, and peripheral devices including providing hardware and software setup and support
Complete access requests, on/off boarding, access changes, application provisions, password reset, distribution list updates
Maintain documentation regarding installation of software, configuration of hardware, troubleshooting, and support history
Maintain hardware asset management and software licensing
Engage vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues with computing equipment and software
Provide support for meeting room and audio-visual systems on premises
Provide users with training on basic to intermediate application functions
Escalate to Intermediate support as required
Participate in after-hours on-call rotation schedule (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Other duties as required
