This entry to intermediate level position is designed for those with a passion for technology and a commitment to supporting Canadian troops. The role, based in Calgary, Alberta, is integral to our IT operations, particularly in supporting the CH146 helicopter fleet\'s service and modernization initiatives.A) RESPONSIBILITIESThe IT Support Specialist will play a pivotal role in providing local IT hardware support, network infrastructure maintenance, and acting as a liaison between the Information Technology department and the Canadian Government Programs (CGP) team.

  • Coordination of IT requirements for CH146 helicopter in-service support and modernization projects.
  • Local IT hardware support, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Support movement of hardware between Calgary or other location with Bell IT commercial located in Mirabel.
  • Coordination of Calgary Network hardware support involving the setup and maintenance of routers, switches and wireless network devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with IT administrators, digital business analysts, subcontractors, and CGP team to ensure seamless IT operations.
  • Contribute to IT performance indicators and dashboards, monitoring network health and system performance.
  • Support documentation related to IT hardware inventory, network configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in security reviews of IT systems and coordination of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist in data transfers and system integrations, ensuring data integrity and compliance with security protocols.
  • Document Calgary IT challenges and solutions, providing regular updates to the IT department and CGP team.
  • Support internal and external IT audits and compliance checks.
  • Act as a liaison between the IT department and CGP, facilitating communication and collaboration.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Academic Training and Experience\xc2\xb7 Diploma in IT , Computer Science or a related field.\xc2\xb7 Have 1-3 years of relevant experience.\xc2\xb7 New graduates with demonstrated skills in IT hardware and network support are welcome to apply.\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with SharePoint, Power Bi, SQL, and network management tools.2.
